Andrea Roy Appointed as New City Manager

June 11, 2024

Andrea Roy is Bedford’s new city manager. In a vote by City Council Tuesday night, Roy, who had been serving as the City’s interim city manager, was approved for the position on a permanent basis.

“There is no one better to fill this position,” commented Mayor Dan Cogan. “We are happy to have you as city manager now!”

Roy, assumed the position of interim city manger when Jimmy Stathatos, the city manager at the time, left to to take a job as market leader at the CSRS consulting firm, in December of 2023, according to his Linkedin page.

Both had come to Bedford in late 2020, according to the Cross Timbers Gazette of southern Denton County. Roy, at the time, was Flower Mound’s director of economic development and Stathatos held the position as Flower Mound’s town manager.

The Cross Timbers Gazette states that Roy, at the time she left Flower Mound, had more than 20 years of experience in economic development and credited her with “recruiting thousands of jobs and attracting a significant increase in sales taxes” in the three years she was there.e
