Construction of the Senior Center could begin shortly pending approval of design documents at the May 28th City Council meeting, according to a City of Bedford News Flash, issued today, April 4th.
The News Flash explained that the design documents, to be presented to the Council for approval, include details on “various multi-purpose rooms, a lounge, fitness area, commercial kitchen, game room, craft/ceramics room, library nook, reception area, several offices for staff and restrooms (men, women, and family).”
The City purchased the old Airport Area YMCA building at the southeast corner of Central and Cummings last spring, the News Flash said, with the objective of converting it as a center for Bedford’s seniors.
