Replacement for Movie Tavern Opens in May and ATP Pickleball Starts this Summer
Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Look Dine-In Cinema is opening a new theater in Bedford this coming month, according to Mayor Dan Cogan as he made his Mornings with the Mayor presentation last Saturday, April 26. To be located at the same location vacated by Movie Tavern in January, Look announced on its website that they are “excited” to be coming to Bedford with “summer blockbusters like never before.”
Look’s website stated that patrons can “sink into luxury seating” to watch movies while experiencing “full-service dining” and “handcrafted cocktails, beer or wine from the bar, all delivered directly to your seat.”
According to the company’s website, Look operates a theater in south Arlington as well. They had operated a Colleyville location, but closed it last summer, as reported by a September 4, 2024 post by southlakestyle.com.
Also as stated on their website, Look also operates locations in California, Georgia, New York and Virginia.
ATP Pickleball
ATP Pickelball is another newcomer to Bedford mentioned by Mayor Cogan at his Saturday session.
Originally reported in an April 8 City of Bedford News Flash, ATP plans to open their indoor pickleball facility this summer at 1313 Brown Trail, adjacent to Turning Point Beer. According to the News Flash, the facility will feature “six premium indoor pickleball courts” at a fee of $10 for individuals and $30 per court with monthly memberships available.
No Replacement Yet for Big Lots
There is still no replacement for the closure of Big Lots, at Harwood and Central, Cogan explained, however, he mentioned that a (undisclosed) hardware store had expressed an interest in the property.

In the meantime, City of Bedford Communications Director Molly Fox stated that “City staff has been in regular contact” with the landlords of Turning Point Beer and ATP Pickleball. She said further that the City “is investigating the possibility of site upgrade incentives” for the landlords of both venues. Any incentives offered to them, Fox added, however, would require approval from City Council.
Such incentives are typically offered to landlords and business operators in the form of tax credits, rebates and grants for them to upgrade existing infrastructure, such as improving efficiency, technology or economic development.
